My first book TRUE RELIGION: Taking Pieces of Heaven to Places of Hell on Earth, is a description of the spiritual transformation God works in us when we give our lives away to change this world. I feel like I’ve poured out everything God has taught me about risk, justice, love, compassion, and faith into 200 pages.TRUE RELIGION is about the fact that -- This world is a broken place, but it doesn't have to be that way; God wants to use your one and very important life to change what is wrong in this world.

In my new book, GOD CAN'T SLEEP, I wrestle with the problem of pain. Suffering is the world's common language. Sorrow is woven into the fabric of our fallen world. No one is immune; no one escapes its grip. It impacts all people, every relationship, and plagues entire nations. But pain is not the end. God is doing something very beautiful on the dark days. It's time for a new theodicy.
